AboutAnthony's interest in art started at a young age... Grade 1 to be exact when his teacher had brought in a realistic drawing of an eye that was drawn by his son. The teacher showed the class and Anthony was interested in the drawing and asked the teacher if he could borrow it. The teacher allowed it and the next day, just by looking at the original drawing he was able to draw the realistic eye exactly as the original. Anthony brought both drawings into class the next day and the teacher was blown away at the level of detail for being so young.
Fast forward a few years, all through school his mom entered him in as many drawing contests possible and he won every contest he entered. That's when he realized that he had an artistic gift. Even as Anthony was a kid he was always expanding his creative abilities from just looking at something and drawing it exactly to scale and detail. Doing Christmas window art for local businesses also including portraits of people. As Anthony got older he was involved in other mediums of art including graffiti (murals) at around the age of 17 and airbrushing (murals) around the age of 20 while pencil drawing in-between. After years of getting heavily tattooed Anthony decided to pursue the art of tattooing. He didnt have the means at the time for a traditional apprenticeship in tattooing. But he didn't give up! Thanks to his mom for buying his first tattooing supplies kit and one of his best friends that gave him a coil tattoo machine to get him started. He struggled to make it happen on his own, but had encouragement from his peers. Anthony spent the next 5 years tattooing family and friends till he had a good portfolio to try and get into a shop. After the first shop told him to come back in a year, he was disappointed and was determined to get into a shop himself. His uncle saw the potential in him and went to talk to a shop owner that had room for up and coming artists, who agreed to give Anthony a chance. Now he had a platform to hone his craft in tattooing, 7 days a week for 3-4 years building a clientele. Anthony was at the same shop for the past 7 years specializing in black and grey tattoos. He now owns his own tattooing business ToSikWitInk. Anthony has and will always stay humble and grateful for all his clients who trust him with their skin and also all the people that supported him along his journey. Anthony might look intimidating, but once you sit in his chair you'll see the nice, kind, funny man he is. He is excited for what the future may hold for his career. The sky is the limit 🙏 ~Anthony-Tony-Tuna |
